CHICKASHA – A webinar featuring an action plan for employers regarding medical marijuana will be held Aug. 16 at Canadian Valley Technology Center’s Chickasha Campus.
On June 26, Oklahoma voters approved the legalization of medical marijuana by a 57 percent majority. The law, which went into effect on July 26, presents employers a new workplace challenge in terms of balancing the rights of employees who possess a valid medical marijuana license with the needs of employers to maintain a safe, drug-free environment.
The presentation is made possible by McAfee & Taft law firm and is a collaborative effort between CV Tech’s Business and Industry Services division and the Chickasha Chamber of Commerce.
The one-hour webinar and subsequent discussion will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in CV Tech’s Helen Ward Seminar Center on the east side of Building 200 (adjacent to Michigan Avenue). The school is located at 1401 Michigan Ave. A reservation is requested by calling (405) 222-7552.
