Before taking to the air, prospective pilots must first get grounded. Canadian Valley Technology Center provides this important step, which is a 14-week private pilot ground school at the El Reno Campus.
Pre-requisites include proficiency in English, basic math skills and a third-class medical exam certificate. CV Tech’s FAA certified flight instructor, Cassi Terry, prepares students for the private pilot knowledge test by teaching the basics of aircraft systems, including instruments, aerodynamics, Federal Aviation Regulations, navigation, weather theory, weight and balance and airport operations. Cost is $313.
The next class begins Jan. 20. Minimum age to test is 16, but 15-year-olds can take the class with permission. Call (405) 422-2201 to enroll.
