Canadian Valley Technology Center wants to partner with area employers who face new workplace challenges related to recent passage and implementation of Oklahoma’s new medical marijuana law as it relates to employees.
CV Tech’s Chickasha Campus will host an event at 10 a.m., Oct. 9, for business supervisors, entitled, “Medical Marijuana in the Workplace.”
Then on Oct. 10, also at 10 a.m., the El Reno Campus will host a presentation entitled, “Medical Marijuana: An Action Plan for Employers,” that is aimed at helping businesses maintain a safe, drug-free environment.
CV Tech’s Business and Industry Services division staff has collaborated with area attorneys who will be keynote speakers at both presentations. Law firms are seeking to be proactive to limit potential litigation as a result of the new law that was passed by voters on June 26 and enacted on July 26.
The first presentation is scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m., Oct. 9, at the Helen Ward Seminar Center on CV Tech’s Chickasha Campus, 1401 Michigan Ave. A reservation is requested by calling (405) 222-7552.
The second presentation is scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m., Oct. 10, in the J.R. Gililland Seminar Center on the west end of the El Reno Campus, 6505 E. Hwy. 66. A reservation is requested by calling (405) 422-2202.
