Ten adult students enrolled in full-time programs at Canadian Valley Technology Center have received Otha Grimes Memorial Scholarship scholarships totaling $3,350.
The scholarships were awarded by the Oklahoma Foundation for Career and Technology Education to adults who are pursuing post-secondary education at Oklahoma’s technology centers. They are awarded in varied amounts and given based on commitment and scholastic achievement.
Winners of $500 scholarships are Juan Hernandez and Rocquel Jefferson. A $400 award goes to Kelsie Rolle. Four students received $300 awards, including Jordan Shaw, Victor Juarez, Makalia Bartodej and Jacob Montez. Three $250 awards go to Monica Cano, Allison Cudd and Kameo Ernst.
Otha H. Grimes was involved in agriculture and oil and gas production. He owned Ogeechee Farms in Fairland and served on the foundation board of directors.
