New Instructional Program Hours
New Hours-at the board meeting this week, the board voted to switch our annual schedule to hours instead of days. To be compliant with the 1080-hour formula, it required slightly adjusting our start and stop times for AM/PM classes.
These changes start when we return from Spring Break on Monday, March 24. Students were notified by their instructors following the board meeting on Tuesday, March 11. Reminders will be posted on CV Tech’s website and social media, and also sent through School Messenger towards the end of Spring Break.
Chickasha hours will be 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Cowan and El Reno hours will be 8:20 a.m. – 11:20 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. – 3:20 p.m.
Bus routes will run the same times they have all year. If a student does not ride the bus (all daytime adult students or high school students who drive or have a ride), they will follow this new bell schedule.

Why the change?
This bell schedule change will mean that we meet the state’s requirement for 1080 hours of instruction time during the school year for K-12 and we will NOT have to extend the school year to make up any days missed so far due to weather closings. (NOTE: Any further weather closings in the future may not be covered by this policy).
Do students get to take their snow day on April 18, 2025?
YES! Pending no weather closures between now and April 18, 2025 campuses will be closed on this date.
