Beesley Honored for Supporting Oklahoman Small Business Owners

Emily Beesley makes a living helping small business owners make a living. She is among more than two dozen advisors statewide for the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) whose mission is impacting the economy through business start-ups, job growth and increased business sustainability.

Now, she is also among 2024 SBDC State Star Award recipients from across the country. Beesley represented Oklahoma in a special reception Tuesday at the 45th Annual SBDC Conference in Atlanta.

She was honored for demonstrating exemplary performance while helping current and prospective business owners in the area with management, financial and technical support.

The non-profit SBDC office is located at CV Tech’s El Reno Campus. Beesley’s expertise is in marketing, social media content creation, e-commerce, grant writing, tourism, community development and preservation standards for the treatment of historic properties.

Since 1984, SBDC has assisted more than 150,000 Oklahoman small business owners with no-cost business advising. SBDC is funded in part by the Small Business Administration. The West Central office at CV Tech provides services to a six-county area, which includes Blaine, Caddo, Canadian, Grady, Kingfisher and Logan counties.
