Oklahoma’s SkillsUSA president, state parliamentarian and state treasurer all attend classes at Canadian Valley Technology Center.
Ethan Tucker, a senior-to-be at Tuttle High School, has been elected SkillsUSA president for the 2019-20 school year. Tucker is enrolled in CV Tech’s Pre-Engineering program at the Chickasha Campus.
SkillsUSA, founded in 1965, is a student organization for students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations. Today, more than 345,000 students and advisors nationwide are organized into more than 19,000 local chapters and 52 state and territorial associations.
Tucker is joined on the state officer team by Chickasha High School senior-to-be Dylan Laumbach, who is enrolled in Precision Machining at CV Tech’s Chickasha Campus.
The third state officer is Jonathan Johnson, an Electrical Trades student, who will be a senior at Vandament Avenue Baptist Academy, a Yukon charter school.
At the recent SkillsUSA national conference in Louisville, Laumbach was interviewed by both Snap-On Tools and by the SkillsUSA national office for upcoming publications.
Johnson was recently named the first El Reno Campus high school recipient of the Dr. Greg & MeMe Winters Scholarship.
The three students will participate in leadership development activities statewide throughout the year.
