CHICKASHA – Canadian Valley Technology Center Grahpic Design student Breanna Gray is this year’s statewide winner of the T-shirt design contest for the Oklahoma National Technical Honor Society’s student leadership conference.
Gray, a junior at Alex High School, created the design in class and then attended the leadership conference with Chickasha Campus Graphic Design instructor, Andrew Davis.
The design was featured on a solid black tee and includes a white outline of Oklahoma and two phrases familiar to students who belong to NTHS: “Success Favors the Prepared,” adapted from the NTHS motto, “Success Favors the Prepared Mind” and the words, “Agents of Change.”
Gray’s entry was chosen among 24 design submissions by state NTHS advisors from across the state.
More than 400 students wore the T-shirt at the recent conference, held at Tulsa Tech’s Owasso Campus.
Gray also recently was named Student of the Quarter in her CV Tech class.
NTHS honors student achievement and leadership, promotes educational excellence, award scholarships, and enhances career opportunities for its members, which are tied to several CareerTech student organizations that are affiliated with programs at technology centers.
CV Tech students can join Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), Business Professionals of America (BPA), Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) or SkillsUSA.
Student organizations also have regional, state and national contests, which provide students more opportunities to showcase the skills they have learned. Last year, CV Tech had a school record 13 national champions and an unprecedented 46 state champions.
