EL RENO – Summer preteen day camps in June and July will keep the hallways hopping at Canadian Valley Technology Center’s two area campuses.
CV Tech Quest will feature nearly two dozen class options, including Lego Discovery, Healthcare Highway, PC Gaming & Programming and Digital Photography.
“CV Tech Quest is an exciting way to introduce younger students to careers,” said Canadian Valley’s Jeremy Eaton, who serves as campus director at both sites.
Many of the courses incorporate elements of similar full-time programs offered at CV Tech, and most are taught by the school’s instructors.
Other course options include Basic and Advanced Robotics, Streaming into Space, Science of Crime and Salon Dive.
The five-day camps are held from 8:30 to 11:30 each morning. Courses are offered to students entering the fourth through ninth grades in the 2017-18 school year.
Weeks available are June 5-9, June 12-16, July 10-14 and July 17-21.
The day camps are offered at both the Cowan Campus, 1701 S. Czech Hall Dr., near Yukon, and at the El Reno Campus, 6505 E. Hwy. 66, in El Reno.
Bus transportation will be provided each morning at 8:15 and again at 11:30 to take students back and forth between sites. This allows parents the option of dropping their children at one campus even if their course is only offered at the other site. It will also facilitate parents who have children attending camps at both sites the same days.
Enrollment opens April 10. Parents may enroll their children either by phone or in person at either school site. An enrollment form is available on the school’s website, cvtech.edu. The phone number to call is (405) 345-2500. Cost is $80 per child. The fee includes a CV Tech Quest T-shirt and a daily snack.
