CHICKASHA – Canadian Valley Technology Center students hosted a water drive in order to purchase 2,300 water bottles for use by police and fire department personnel through the summer months.

Students in CV Tech’s Practical Nursing program competed for the Golden Stethoscope, which is a traveling trophy that was created several years ago as a source of pride for the winning classroom among nursing students.

All students in full-time, health-related programs are affiliated with Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). This activity is one of several the students partake in each year.

CV Tech Nursing instructor Pamela Roberts said the students fight hard to earn the right to keep the trophy.

“We think it’s a great way to let the students have some fun while also getting involved in helping with the needs in our community,” Roberts said. “Both the police and fire departments were very thankful.”
