Note: This is an adult-only program available at both the Chickasha and Cowan campuses.
- Provide quality patient care before, during and after surgery as a critical part of the surgical team
- Develop a professional working relationship with surgeons, anesthesiologists and nurses
- Experience challenging coursework and relevant instruction a variety of surgical procedures and clinical settings
This program consists of 828 didactic hours and 528 clinical hours, which is a total of 1,356 hours. Number of clinical hours is dependent upon the number of surgical procedures the student has participated in both as a first scrub and second scrub in both general surgical procedures and in specialty surgical procedures.
CV Tech's Surgical Technology program had 100 percent pass rate among students in the 2020-2021 school year on the Outcomes Assessment Exam (national certification). The national pass rate for this certification is 73.7 percent. CV Tech maintained 100 percent pass rate among students on the national exam from 2018 to present. CV Tech also has a 100 percent placement rate for all Surg Tech graduates.
