Medical Office Specialist (833 Hours)

Become a Certified Medical Administrative Specialist (CMAS).  The administrative medical office specialist is a very important part of the team in the medical office.  They greet patients, schedule appointments, process patient payments and provide general clerical assistance to the physician.  This program provides knowledge and skills to prepare for work in a medical office setting.  Instruction includes patient reception and processing, daily operations, medical records, medical billing as well as financial and practice management. Drug screen required before clinicall rotation. Prerequisite:  High school diploma or GED; AHA BLS Provider CPR & AHA First aid, OSBI Background Check not more than 30 days old (Name Based, Sex Offender & Violent Offender) Two Step TB Skin Test not more than 6 months old. Background checks and test may have to be repeated to complete the course. 

Student must maintain 24 hours per week attendance requirement. Clinical component scheduled per instructor. Days and hours will vary.
