Medical Assistant (829 Hours)
Become a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). Knowledge and skills include: interaction with patients and their families in a professional, legal and ethical manner, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, common diseases and their disorders with related skills, vital signs, height, weight, phlebotomy, hematology, chemistry, urinalysis and microbiology as well as administration of medications via the oral, intradermal, subcutaneous and intramuscular routes. Drug screen required before clinical rotation. Prerequisite: High school diploma or GED, AHA BLS Provider CPR &AHA First Aid, OSBI Background Check not more than 30 days old (Name Bases, Sex Offender & Violent Offender) Two Step TB Skin Test not more than 6 months old. Background checks and tests may have to be repeated to complete the course.
Student must maintain 24 hours per week attendance requirement.
