Basic Pipe Welder

The Welding Technology Program is designed to prepare individuals for work as service and maintenance specialists in the welding industry. Courses emphasize business, industry, and labor guidelines for successful entry-level skills as a Shielded Metal Arc Welder (SMAW). Courses are designed to develop the individual student from a position of relative inexperience to a point where they have the necessary skills to be qualified as an entry-level welder. Upon successful completion of the program, students may receive occupational certificates in most areas from the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education. Students may also be prepared to take the American Welding Society (AWS) Entry Level Welder certification exam. Safety will be emphasized throughout the program.
