CV Tech Announces Phase II Procedures

After a full two month statewide mandatory shutdown, Canadian Valley Technology Center’s El Reno and Chickasha facilities are scheduled to partially resume limited operations today, May 18. This is in accordance with state and local guidelines and with direction from the State Department of Career and Technical Education. Testing, financial aid and counseling services will be available by appointment only. Due to ongoing construction, the Cowan campus testing and financial aid appointments will be scheduled through and will take place at the El Reno campus.

A number of procedures will be implemented in order to ensure the safest environment:
• Only individuals with a scheduled appointment or class should visit any CV Tech location – walk-ins will not be allowed
• A mask that covers the mouth and nose will be required while inside the facility or in close proximity to others outside facilities
• CDC guidelines regarding social distancing will be observed while on CV Tech property

Testing on Campus
All testing will require a scheduled appointment for current students during Phase II. All testing candidates will be required to wear a mask and must wash their hands upon arrival. Candidates will be asked to follow additional check-in procedures in order to ensure a secure, clean testing environment.

Meeting Rooms/Outside Events
CV Tech will not be accepting reservations for meeting rooms for outside groups at any location until further notice. This includes recruitment events, tours, student programs, conferences and social events.

Short-term courses and industry training
CV Tech is continuously evaluating and developing online learning environments for short-term courses and training provided by the BIS Team. Individuals and companies will be contacted directly to determine if training will take place in person or online. CV Tech will provide limited training at outside facilities.

The health of all of our publics depends on adherence to these procedures. We respectfully ask for your help in keeping everyone safe. At CV Tech, the health, safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities. As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, updates will be made on the district website and social media pages. Numerous resources are also available, including community updates, frequently asked questions, small business resources to assist our community partners and CDC recommendations. Should you have questions or individual concerns, please contact CV Tech at (405) 262-2629.

March 26, 2020

Canadian Valley Technology Center has closed all buildings in compliance with the State Board of Education’s decision to close all public schools to minimize exposure of COVID-19. While our doors may be closed, rest assured our administration and instructors are working diligently to provide an online, distance learning solution.  Instructors will notify students individually by April 6 with the program-specific plan.

Administration has determined May 15, 2020, will be the last day of school for students. Unfortunately, due to the state mandate for social distancing and size limitation of gatherings, all planned events and District graduations have been canceled.

CV Tech is committed to the success and well being of our students.  Please feel free to email any questions to info@cvtech.edu or visit our Frequently Asked Questions document. Our website and social media platforms will be updated regularly. For accurate information on COVID-19, please see information and resources below.
